[illegible marginalia] The Municipal Court of Chicago [handwritten marginalia] Oct. 30, 1922. Prof. H.H. Laughlin, Cold Springs Harbor, L. I., N. Y. Dear Mr. Laughlin - The enclosed lists of persons who have been disqualified for suretyship on criminal bonds in the Municipal Court of Chicago came to my notice to-day. There is such a preponderance of names evidently not Anglo-Saxon that I thought it might interest you, or some acquaintance of yours who is seeking immigration restriction. In this city the new citizen readily picks up the worst we have to give him. Very sincerely yours, Herbert Harley.
