Dear Sir:
Mr. John M. Browning, referred to on the enclosed card, died last year at the age of 72 years.
A brief resume of his work will probably be more satisfactory than notations on the card.
His ancestry traces back to two brothers by the name of Browning who landed at Plymouth in 1620 on the ship Abigail. Mr. Browning, during his life time, took out considerable over 200 patents on firearms. Most of the Winchester Arms, several of the Remington, and all of the Colt's Automatic Pistols are of his invention. He invented, also, the Machine Gun and Machine Rifle as well as the Automatic Pistol which are standard equipment in the United States Army.
Yours very truly,
