Image 1229 6 Americans Honored At Heidelberg's Fete [dashed line] 43 Foreigners Get 550th Anniversary Degrees Heidelberg, June 30 (UP). - Six Americans were among forty-three foreigners who received honorary degrees from the University of Heidelberg on its 550th anniversary today. They were: Professor Kirsopp Lake, of Harvard; Professor Harry H. Laughlin, of the Carnegie Institution, Cold Spring Harbor; Ferdinand Thun, of Reading, Pa.; William May Garland, of Los Angeles; Professor Reginald Aldworth Daly, of Harvard, and Henry K. Janssen, of Reading, Pa. Jean Sibelius, Finnish composer, was among a group of European, South American, Chinese, Turkish and Japanese statesmen and intellectuals honored by the university.
