Issac Costa letter to Karl Pearson, with observations of race mixing in Jamaica provided his friend, "e;a relative of Florence Nightingale"e; (11/17/1908)

[handwritten letter] Glasgow Adelphi P.O. Jamaica W.I. Nov 17th 1908. Dear Prof. Pearson, I enclose a note or two from a friend of mine who has lived in Jamaica for 32 years, and who has an intimate knowledge of the people. He is much interested in social matters (a relative of Florence Nightingale) and a well-read careful business man, & one of the best known men here. You will see that his opinion agrees with mine. He says that the subject is so delicate a one that he could not give his name for publication. I also enclose a bit of the hair of the negro albino, the one whose photographs I sent you. With kind regards, I am Yours very truly, Isaac Costa [end]
