AN ACT To amend the domestic relations law, in relation to prevention of hereditary blindness. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: Section 1. Chapter nineteen of the laws of nineteen hundred and nine, entitled "An act relating to domestic relations, constituting chapter fourteen of the consolidated laws," is hereby amended by inserting therein, after section twenty-five, a new section, to be section twenty-six, to read as follows: [Section] 26. Prevention of hereditary blindness. It shall be the duty of the town clerk upon the application for a marriage license to ascertain as to any visual defect in either of such applicants, or in a blood relative of either part within the third degree, and if any such defect exists and is of such a nature that there EXPLANATION - Matter in italics is new; matter in brackets {} is old law to be omitted.
