An ACT To amend the domestic relations law, in relation to prevention of hereditary blindness. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Chapter nineteen of the laws of nineteen hundred 2 and nine, entitled "An act relating to domestic relations, constitut- 3 ing chapter fourteen of the consolidated laws," is hereby amended 4 by inserting therein, after section twenty-five and at the end of 5 article three, a new section, to be section twenty-six, to read as 6 follows: 7 [section] 26. Prevention of hereditary blindness. Any town or city 8 clerk empowered to issue marriage licenses shall, before issuing 9 such licenses, require a written statement from the parties in the 10 following words: "Neither myself nor, to the best of my knowl- 11 edge and belief, any of my blood relatives within the second degree, Explanation - Matter in italics is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
