The reproduction of the species is governed by the laws of nature which are practically the same in all plants and animals including man. They are fixed and invariable, and any attempt to alter them is attended with evil consequences, such as the production of monstrosities, or inefficient offspring.
According to these laws, there can be no reproduction without a junction of the male with the female, that is, they must unite, or the multiplication of the species is an impossibility.
