Those of whom this study deals, came to the region of [obscured], [obscured], and [obscured], Me (Then one township) in about 1760, coming from the region of York County, Me. Physical Characteristics. Poor physical development though sometimes quite tall. Tendency to stooping and drooping shoulders, asymmetrical chests, small heads, receding chins [author spells it "chings" but has lightly struck out the "g"] and low foreheads. Many show evidence of the affect of adenoids in the face and jaws. Skin diseases are frequent. Mental Characteristics. Nervous and often restless and apparently energetic but tend to puttering rather than actual accomplishment. Apprehensive, introspective and inclined to worry and hypochondriasis. Financially rather irresponsible, improvident but not calculatingly dishonest. Often immoral but not vicious or violent.
