Prospect: Oh, yes, I have heard of the American Eugenics Society. What is it? Tell me more about it? What does it do?
You: The American Eugenics Society is an organization of thoughtful people of the United States bonded together for the benefit of humanity to do what it can to raise the hereditary endowment of the human race to the end that the human race may become happier.
Prospect: But why should I join the Society? How can I help by joining?
You: The fact that you are a member of the Society means that you are interested in the work of race betterment. It means that you become a missionary for this work and that your influence will be spread widely, much more so than if you were not a member. Furthermore, you will receive Eugenics magazine regularly, and that will help to interest you even further. As you become more and more interested you will become more and more enthusiastic. It is very much like asking the question, "Why should I vote on election day?"
Prospect: But if I am a member what advantages do I obtain aside from the help that I can give in this financial way and in spreading eugenics?
You: There are a certain number of advantages (and you will find the answers to this on the sheet which is enclosed.) You can enumerate some of these to the person and shown how many persons have actually saved a lot of money by their memberships simply from the saving they have made on books they have bought.
Prospect: What is the Eugenics magazine? How often do I receive it? What is there in it?
You: Eugenics magazine is published by the Galton Publishing
