L. Snyder letter to C. Davenport, about polydactyly

[marginalia]A:2106-64[end marginalia] The North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering State College Station Raleigh, N.C. School of Agriculture Research Resident Tracking Extension Department of Zoology and Entomology Sept. 5, 1928 Dear Dr. Davenport, I have traced out a family history this summer among the negroes of Pamlico County, North Carolina, in which polydactyly appears. An extra little finger is present, as shown by the enclosed photograph. I have enough evidence to establish the factor clearly as a recessive. Do you have any references to literature on this character? I am unable to find any specific references to literature, although I find mention made of the character here and there. I will appreciate any references you can give me. Yours sincerely, Laurence H. Snyder [photo]
